Jennifer Ecklund-Johnson writes about health care delivery and the impact of health reform on providers for the Health Policy Forum. Ecklund-Johnson has a decade of experience in communications, including health care and corporate communications, public relations, and media relations. She currently is based in Prairie Village, Kan. and works as a freelance communication consultant, editor, and writer. Jennifer’s current projects include editorial management and feature writing for Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill. and Web site content development for small business clients.

As former producer of the Health In A Heartbeat program, Jennifer worked with the Shands.org Web team to re-vamp the program’s Web site and launch a weekly eNewsletter. She wrote and edited scripts and also managed the Web site. Jennifer’s prior experience also includes working on the Shands HealthCare corporate communications team, coordinating communications efforts for the Neurological Center of Excellence at Shands at the University of Florida, editing publications for Shands HealthCare, coordinating public relations efforts for the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida and working with Long Promotional Group in Chicago. She holds a master’s degree in communication from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from North Park University in Chicago, Ill.
